Alfreton Success Stories
Nial Connell, LEAP
Once I started the LEAP course I realized that I already knew a few people, this coupled with the friendly tutors at TBG really helped me to settle in and feel comfortable. After just being here for a couple of weeks, they secured me a place on the Prince’s Trust Course which has helped me in ways I could never have imagined.
TBG offered me a 2 week placement as a trainee administrator which is great to now have on my CV. It helped me to see if it was really what I wanted to move forward in.
My time here has helped me to progress intellectually and socially as a person. I have made some great friends and now consider myself to be optimistic in everyday life, especially about getting an Apprenticeship in Administration. Thank you.
Steve Reynolds, Response to Redundancy
I started with TBG to gain a recognised qualification to help me find a new position in the labour market. I successfully completed my European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) with the aid of my tutor's help and tuition.
The course has helped me gain the skills I needed to show that I was confident with computers. This automatically improved my prospects. I was offered a 3 week work placement with TBG as an Administration Assistant. This has been great for me, as once I have completed the placement I will have my qualification AND experience.
Thank you TBG for giving me this great opportunity.
Emma Houseman, LEAP
I came on to the LEAP course to brush up on my basic skills and gain some qualifications to put on to my CV. My aim was to get these and then start applying for jobs.
I gained my Level 1 in Maths and English and now feel much more comfortable using these in a day to day setting. My CV is heaps better and I don’t feel embarrassed sending it off anymore. I applied for various different positions but also thought that I would like to go on learning. I applied for an Apprenticeship in Childcare and was accepted! I’m now working and learning at the same time, and will come out with the experience and qualification I need to progress.
Thanks TBG.
