Camden Success Stories

	Rhianne Smith, 18 years old, LEAP Before I started at TBG Camden, I was in employment but was unhappy with where it was heading, so I decided to quit my job and started looking for a career that suited me, luckily my friend told me about the course. When I first started I was a bit unsure of how the course worked and if it was right for me, but as I got into it I found that it could really help with my future. I have now progressed in my English and Maths, met new people and most of all found something I enjoy doing, while I've been at TBG I've also found a new job at The Body Place. After TBG I will be continuing with my education, studying hair and beauty combined at Hartford Regional College.

	Christian Hawkins, 17 years old, LEAP Before I came to TBG I was made redundant from a building services company, this however allowed me more time to train for a career in the Armed Forces. I have enjoyed my experience at TBG, as I have been able to increase my confidence and meet new people. I have undergone a NOCN qualification in Business Admin; along with Literacy, Numeracy and ICT Functional Skills. These were both challenging and enjoyable. I hope to resume my application with the Army, while also looking for work. Thanks to the qualifications I have gained I am now able to get jobs I would not have been qualified for previously.

	Nysa Bolton, 17 years old, LEAP Before I started at TBG, I was looking for a new job in a hair salon hoping to carry-on my hairdressing career. I found a voluntary position working in a Hair and Beauty salon, while working a connexions advisor suggested I try and find a college placement. When I started at TBG I decided to do aBeauty Therapy City & Guilds Level 1, as I didn’t want to move away from the hair and beauty industry. I've also completed ICT and Functional skills alongside the beauty Qualification. I have enjoyed my time at TBG and have most enjoyed learning how to do manicure and nail art, I also learnt how to do costume make-up. Mostly, I have liked spending my time here with the rest of the beauty girls and tutors. After TBG, I am hoping to finish my NVQ level 2 in hair dressing at Enfield College in the summer. If I don’t get in to Enfield College, I would like to find an apprenticeship in either hair or beauty. If this unsuccessful then I will look into a part time placement at the London college of Beauty.
