Top Award for TBG Learning

Independent training company TBG Learning, which has seven centres across London, has been named ‘Provider of the Year’ at the 2008 Skills for London Awards, held on 4th June at London’s Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.

e2e Animation Workshop

Young learners, aged 16-18, at Barking’s TBG Learning Centre, recently participated in an animation film production sponsored by the Learning Skills Council, (LSC).

Barking Centre learners fundraise for Charity

Barking Centre's Entry-to-Employment learners, aged 16-18, organised a fundraising Coffee Morning in support of the Breast Cancer Awareness Week. Around 50 other students and staff attend the event. All participants contributed a £1 to the charity, in return for which they were treated to a most welcome tea or coffee and a selection of cakes. Christine Spiers, Centre's Learner Support Co-ordinator said, " the young people planned and implemented this fundraising event, which raised £50 in an hour, but equally importantly they learned how easy it is to get involved in charity projects to help others"

Happy reunion for Barking Centre's ESOL learners

Some of the Barking's past ESOL learners returned for a brief reunion at the Learning Centre recently. The happy occasion was also an opportunity for staff to present the ex-learners with their City & Guilds ESOL Entry 3 Certificates.

9th March 06

Eight young learners from the Entry-to-Employment, (e2e), programme took part in an action packed fun day with the world famous Royal Marines, on 9th March 05. The event organised by the Royal Navy to engaged with young people in local schools and volunteer organisation, took place at the Blackheath Training Centre.
