Independent training company TBG Learning Derbyshire, which designed and delivered a special Workshop that helps people with disabilities and health problems to find employment, has received a prestigious award for its work.
Remploy Interwork, the national organisation which helps people with disabilities to secure work, has awarded TBG Learning, Derbyshire, with a ‘Leading the Way’ commendation for reaching the regional stage of its national competition to celebrate the work of the companies it works with.
“TBG Learning showed it was highly professional. This is an excellent training company and we have been very impressed by their adaptability with the design and delivery of this special programme”, said Howard Nelson, Remploy Local Account Manager.
Each TBG Learning Workshop organised for Remploy focuses on a particular segment of the jobs market such as Call Centres, Warehousing or Retail and gives the participants the support they need in improving confidence, developing their skills and understanding about what it would be like to work in that area. The Workshops also show how to compile a CV, write applications for advertised job vacancies and prepare for interviews.
The first Workshop focusing on the skills required to work in a Call Centre helped six out of eight participants to secure employment. A recent Workshop on the Retail Sector has already helped two participants to secure employment and a further two get to the interview stage for the jobs they want.
“This Workshop programme is in its infancy and results have been very promising. We were delighted to be commended by Remploy”, said Sally Walker, Community Learndirect Tutor, TBG Learning Derbyshire.
