TRAINERS WORK TOGETHER FOR ESSEX EMPLOYERS

SVC Limited, which has offices in Colchester and Stansted, has achieved national recognition for its new training division and has thanked another Colchester based company, TBG Learning, for its expert advice on accreditation procedure. Formerly known as Stour Valley Consultancy, SVC specialises in human resource and recruitment consultancy and launched its training courses last autumn, expanding to open a new office in Stansted.

SVC Training was recently inspected by awarding body City & Guilds and is now accredited to assess employees for NVQ qualifications. It runs open courses in areas such as sales, management, health and safety and food hygiene. "The relationship with TBG Learning has really helped us to achieve this mark of approval from City & Guilds and open the new centre in Stansted as a result", said Margaret Langsford, SVC Training Manager, who is a qualified NVQ Assessor.

TBG Learning, which already has City & Guilds accreditation, will continue to work with SVC Training by helping to train up two more of their staff members to become NVQ Assessors. The two companies will also work together in referring clients to each other's training programmes. "We've established a strategic partnership with SVC Limited which will help both companies to engage local employers in training. There's a long term under investment in employee skills and businesses can look to both SVC and TBG Learning to help them tackle the key areas of workforce development including basic literacy and numeracy", said Anita Hargreaves, Operations Manager, TBG Learning.

TBG Learning works with a wide number of Essex employers, managing Apprenticeship and Train to Gain NVQ programmes in the workplace which are funded by the Learning and Skills Council, Essex. Employees, many of whom haven't done any qualifications since school, benefit from regular visits by qualified staff who help each individual develop towards their qualifications.
