TBG Learning has welcomed the Government’s announcement that it will create 7.5 million training places in order to boost the skills of Britain’s workforce.
TBG Learning has become highly respected for the training programmes and literacy/numeracy courses it delivers to people of all ages, both in the workplace and at its local Centres. These include Apprenticeships where young employees achieve a qualification in the workplace and also the Train to Gain programme, where workers aged over 25 progress in their jobs towards a qualification and improve their basic skills in Maths and English.
The Government’s plans were announced by Skills Secretary John Denham and will address the fact that one in three people of working age are poorly qualified and seven million have problems with numeracy or literacy. In addition a growing number of young people are ‘NEET’ (Not in Education, Training or Employment), which TBG Learning is helping to address through its Entry to Employment and NVQ Apprenticeship programmes.
Sue Gidman, Operations Director at TBG Learning, said:
“TBG Learning has built its reputation by helping disadvantaged people, particularly those with few or no qualifications, to improve their employment skills and we are delighted that the Government is stepping up the numbers of opportunities for training. As a result many more people will have the chance to improve their lives through learning and more employers will benefit from the increased productivity in their workforce.”
