NEW SPONSOR FOR COLCHESTER UNITED YOUTH PLAYERS

Tuesday 21st March 2006

Colchester based TBG Learning has become a Kit Sponsor for three Colchester United Youth Players and is now official sponsor for the football club’s Website.

Under 19 players Anthony Wordsworth, Arrun Best and Stephen Opoka, who are all full time youth team players for Colchester United in the Football League Youth Alliance, have been sponsored by TBG Learning for the remainder of the 2006 season.

To launch the sponsorship Andrea Pawsey, Centre Manager, TBG Learning, arranged for young people currently training on the Entry to Employment programme at TBG Learning, to meet the footballers and be given a tour the Layer Road stadium by Jason Berry, Sales and Marketing Manager at Colchester United.

“TBG Learning has come on board as an enthusiastic new sponsor of our youth players and their support is much appreciated. We share similar aims of giving young people a real chance through training and development and we look forward to a long term partnership”, said Jason Berry.

The Entry to Employment programme at TBG Learning assists 16-18 year-old school leavers who have not entered college or found employment. These young people have joined TBG Learning to increase their basic skills, self confidence and experience. Classes in IT, Literacy and Numeracy and work tasters with local employers are combined with community projects and special activities. Over 70% of these people find employment (with the help of TBG Learning) or take up Apprenticeship training programmes or Further Education courses.

TBG Learning is also a popular provider of computer training and other adult learning courses, with over 300 people attending courses at the centre every week.
