Businesses from all over Wiltshire flocked to a careers event organised by TBG Learning Swindon.
Eighteen employers, and around 130 jobseekers, attended a jobs fair hosted by TBG Learning, who is delivering the Government’s Work Programme on behalf of Rehab JobFit – a programme that helps the long-term unemployed into work through a bespoke package of support and assistance.
Among the organisations that took part in the event were Nationwide, Harvester, J.J.Hair Group, 20:20, Brook Street Recruitment, Field Recruitment and Menzies Hotel Swindon.
Hiren Varvadekar, general manager at Menzies Hotel, said: “We had a really great response at the event and met some really good candidates.
“The hotel always supports the local community as much as we can, and based on the success of the event look forward to working with TBG Learning again in the near future.”
Helen Saunders, of TBG Learning, said the event provided businesses with an ideal opportunity to meet potential candidates.
“The day went extremely well and we had very positive feedback from the companies which joined us,” she said.
“We were delighted with the turnout on the day and to have attracted a wide range of companies which are actively looking to recruit new staff and create new jobs for people in the area.
“The event provided a good platform to help our customers find employment and indeed several of them secured second interviews for positions they applied for on the day, and we look forward to hearing if they’ve been successful in securing a job.”
