TBG Learning has strengthened its Swindon team, along with its support for one of the UK’s top hotel operators.
TBG Learning Swindon has added Bradley Bowles, from Stratton, to its customer service team following a successful work placement.
The 20-year-old will be based at TBG Learning’s centre on Station Road and is well placed to support jobseekers referred to the organisation having previously been enrolled on the Government’s Work Programme delivered by the company on behalf of JobFit.
TBG Learning is also celebrating helping long-term unemployed into work at Premier Inn’s three hotels in the town, along with the rapid promotion of one of its former candidates.
Alastair Thompson joined Premier Inn Swindon North as a night receptionist in March 2012 and has since risen through the ranks to become team leader at Premier Inn Swindon West.
The 34-year-old had been out of work for around 12 months prior to being introduced to Premier Inn, which is part of the Whitbread group.
TBG Learning has since helped six further people into a range of roles at Premier Inn Swindon West, Premier Inn Swindon North, Premier Inn Swindon East and the new Premier Inn Bath hotel.
Among the most recent recruits are Rebecca King and Liam Short, who have joined the company in receptionist and night receptionist roles respectively.
Max Smith, cluster general manager for Premier Inn Chippenham and Swindon, said he was delighted with the strong relationship developed with TBG Learning.
“We’ve established a good relationship with TBG Learning and have used them a lot whenever we have new vacancies open up across the business,” he said.
“Alastair has really excelled since joining the company and progressed quickly and now looks after our Swindon West hotel.
“He is really focussed and we’re delighted to have him with us, along with the rest of the team members who have joined us from TBG Learning and settled in extremely well.”
James Manners, centre manager at TBG Learning Swindon, added: “We really value our partnership with Max and his team and it is great to see everyone we’ve helped doing well with Premier Inn.
“We’re also pleased to add Bradley to our own team. Bradley is well placed to offer support to jobseekers enrolled with us having been in the same position himself not too long ago.
“We first met Bradley around two years ago and we helped him to find temporary employment.
“He spent time with us on a short-term basis earlier this year and he impressed us immensely, so we’re delighted he’s agreed to join TBG Learning as he’ll bring a lot to the team.”
