We’re delighted to hear Holly has secured a job after completing her qualifications with TBG Learning, and receiving help for a job application she wanted to submit. Holly has really grown in confidence since her first day at TBG Learning and we’re sure she’ll excel in her new position.

Holly said:
“I joined TBG Learning Havering in August 2011. I never really liked school so in 2005 I left and was home schooled. I was at college for a little while but again I didn’t get on very well and left. I wasn’t really doing anything. I did get some volunteer work but couldn’t find a full time job.

“I eventually went to Connexions but all they wanted to do was send me back to college and do courses that I never wanted to do. In the end, Connexions made me an appointment at TBG, and I went just to have a look.

“I never thought I’d get any qualifications. I’d never managed to complete school or stay at a college long enough, but when I came to TBG, it felt different. I stuck at it and found that I actually started to enjoy it.

“I’ve passed all my exams including Math’s and English. I’m very proud and even my family was surprised at how well I have done at TBG.

“I left TBG in January 2012 with a load of qualifications and confidence in myself. I signed on while I started looking for work again. I was out shopping when I saw a job advert in a shop window but was worried because I didn’t know what to say on my application. I rung TBG for help because they still make you welcome even though you have left and they said “No problem, pop in when your free”.

“Within three days of sending my email application, I got a phone call requesting an interview. I was a bit nervous but did ok. I couldn’t believe it the next day, when I got another phone call saying that I’d been successful and start next week.

“I think TBG Learning helped me because they talk to you like an adult and don’t look down at you. The staff are nice and actually listen and have a laugh with you.

“I’d recommend young people to join the programme, it’s the best thing I did. I feel TBG has supported and helped me all the way through.”
